Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors like you, and is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. According to the Red Cross, a single car accident victim can require as many as 100 units of blood. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished. Unfortunately, only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly.
