Dr. Bob, as he is known at Knollwood, is a North Carolina native who attended Gardner-Webb College (B.A., Religion), Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity), and Princeton Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry). He pastored churches in Kentucky, Virginia, and Georgia before coming to Knollwood in November 2011.
Dr. Bob is the author of two books, Encounters with the Living Christ: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John and Sessions with John: The Vocabulary of Grace. He also published a workbook for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship titled Christianity for Beginners, and he served as moderator of the national Cooperative Baptist Fellowship during 2004–05.
Bob is married to Bambi, a photographer and portrait artist. The Setzers have a daughter, son-in-law, and two young grandsons living in Falls Church, Va. In his spare time, Bob enjoys running and cycling.
The thing Dr. Bob loves most about Knollwood is that the more one comes to know about this church, the more one is amazed and inspired.
