We have a number of special events throughout the year, and we hope that you will mark your calendars to join us for fun and celebration through the seasons.

Parents' Night Out
Our children will gather at Knollwood and under the supervision of our youth, youth minister, and other adults, will have an evening of missions activities, fun and games. Donations accepted towards youth ministry missions budget (Cost of pizza dinner is $5 per child.)

Serving Saturday
Families will participate in a hands-on local missions project that involves children and adults. Details will be announced closer to the day of the event.

Trunk or Treat
Children (and adults) can wear their Halloween costumes to church on this Wednesday evening. We will parade through the Fellowship Hall before beginning “trunk or treating.” There are also fun fall carnival games.
A festive evening for all!  (No cost)

Family Retreat: We Wonder
Join other families for a one-night retreat at Camp Merriwood in Clemmons. We will explore ways we can approach the Biblical stories of our faith with a wondering spirit. There will be a campfire, smores, large group games, art opportunities, climbing wall fun and more. Programming, cost and registration will be announced in September. Saturday morning to Sunday lunchtime. (Cost, scholarships available.)

Fall Hike
All families are invited to join us on a hike where we can appreciate the beauty of God’s creation together. (No cost)

Friendsgiving
Children will enjoy a special Thanksgiving meal together along with other activities designed for us to share our love and gratitude for our friendships at church. (No cost)

Creating Nativities
As a hands-on activity to lead us into the Advent Season this year, families will have an opportunity to create their own nativities to touch, play, and engage with throughout the Christmas season. We will learn about the history and traditions connected with the crèche and ways that your family can make it a part of your Christmas traditions. (No cost)

An Improvised Christmas Pageant
The best way to experience the joy of the Christmas story is to participate in it. With no formal rehearsals, our children will don costumes and enact the Christmas story for all on this special evening together. (No cost)

Christmas Eve Service 5:00 pm
Our Christmas Eve Service is family friendly, filled with carols and candles and a chance to reflect on Christ’s birth together. (No cost)

Bounce Party
All parents and children are invited to join us for a fun afternoon at KBC with inflatables for all ages. (No cost)

Churchwide Valentine Dance
All ages in our church family are invited to this Valentine Dance. Bring a finger food or special dessert to share, put on your fanciest clothes and dance the night away. (No cost)

Women’s Retreat
Women of all ages at Knollwood gather for a weekend away, filled with rest, renewal and spiritual growth. (Cost, scholarships available)

Family Day
In order to prepare for our worship leadership on Children’s Sunday, we will have a Saturday morning rehearsal for all first through fifth graders, followed by a lunch for all children and their families at KBC. (No cost)

Children’s Sunday
Our elementary aged children are responsible for leading our congregation in worship on this special Sunday morning. We spend many months planning, writing and preparing for this meaningful Sunday. (No cost)

Easter Egg Hunt
We will celebrate Easter with an old-fashioned egg hunt and other fun Easter crafts, activities and storytelling. This event is for preschool through elementary aged children. (No cost)

Family Event
Stay tuned as details come together for spring family social event. (Small cost)

Vacation Bible School (for four year olds through fifth graders) VBS kicks off with a Sunday afternoon event for all children and families and then spend four days (Monday through Thursday) learning about God through crafts, recreation, music, storytelling and more. (No cost)

Passport Camp
(for completed third through fifth graders)
A group of Knollwood chaperones accompanies our children to Montreat College in Black Mountain, NC for three nights of camp, learning about missions in our world. Registration and $60 deposit are due in September. (Scholarships available)
