Volunteer for Overflow Shelter

Knollwood Partnership

with St. Timothy’s Overflow Shelter

Volunteer during

December 1, 2017 - March 31, 2018

Each of the past four years, Knollwood has partnered with local nonprofit City with Dwellings (CWD) in their efforts to end homelessness. CWD runs three overflow shelters to provide beds for men and women during the coldest months of the year, when local shelters reach capacity.

The two men’s shelters are hosted at Augsburg Lutheran and Redeemer Presbyterian (Dec. only) / First Presbyterian (Jan.-March). The women’s shelter is hosted at St. Timothy’s Episcopal. Last year, more than 200 individuals were provided shelter and warm meals by CWD partner shelters.

Knollwood partners with St. Timothy’s Episcopal to help staff the Women’s Shelter every Thursday from Dec. 1 - March 30. Our volunteers walk with the guests at St. Timothy’s as they journey toward housing.

The following KBC volunteers are needed:
(1) 2 Overnight Volunteers
(2) 2 Check-in Volunteers
(3)  1 meal for 25 people
(4) 25 snack bags for the women to take with them.
