Advent 2024

Join us for a full and festive season as we celebrate the Christ Child’s birth with a variety of seasonal activities, including our Barely Rehearsed Christmas Pageant, Messiah and Carols by Candlelight, Sunday worship, and a candlelight Christmas Eve service.

ADVENT DEVOTIONAL

Copies of the 2024 devotional are available around campus while supplies last. This year’s devotional consists of scriptures and prayers on colorful card stock displayed on a miniature easel.

circle of quiet and Maya Angelou’s Freedom Poetry of Advent

As a poet, Maya Angelou often stands in the shadows and writes of the light. She boldly insists on blessedness and freedom, even as she confronts the pain and injustice of the world, all with candor and wit. In that sense, she makes the perfect guide as we prepare for the hope, peace, joy, and love of Christmas day.

Join Circle of Quiet for the season as we explore the lectionary scriptures, Angelou’s poetry, and contemplative spiritual practices that will deepen and enrich our experience of Advent.

Weekly handouts are provided, and you may bring a journal or headphones to enhance your time of silence and solitude. Circle of Quiet is held each Sunday morning in the Chapel during the Sunday School hour.
